The International Last Minute Ballet Audition Portorož 2027 is a unique opportunity for talented dancers to be seen by artistic directors, recruiters, academy representatives and ballet professionals from around the world.
Whether you are seeking a professional contract, a position in a youth company, admission to a ballet academy, a trainee programme or a scholarship, this audition offers a direct pathway to the next step in your artistic journey.
Designed as an international recruitment platform, the event brings together dancers and decision-makers in a focused and professional environment where talent, potential and artistic individuality can be discovered.

The audition is open to both female and male dancers.
Depending on the number and profile of applicants, dancers will be organised into audition groups according to their professional goals and educational interests.
This allows participating directors and recruiters to focus on candidates who best match the needs of their institutions.
Each audition day includes:
Candidates will participate in a professional ballet class consisting of:
• Barre Work
• Centre Practice
• Adagio
• Pirouettes
• Allegro
Female candidates will participate in a dedicated pointe session designed to demonstrate technical ability, strength, control and artistic quality.
Male candidates will participate in a separate men’s class focusing on virtuoso technique, jumps, turns and strength.
In addition to the audition classes, candidates may choose to present themselves on stage under professional performance conditions.
This special evening event takes place at the beautiful Avditorij Portorož Amphitheatre and allows dancers to demonstrate their artistic personality and stage presence in front of directors and recruiters.
Participants may perform:

• Pas de Deux
• Contemporary Solos
• Contemporary Duets
Performances will take place under professional stage lighting and in costume, creating a true theatrical environment.
Participation in the evening performance is optional but highly recommended.
Many directors consider stage presence and artistic communication to be just as important as technical ability.

Some representatives will attend in person, while others may participate online via live streaming and Zoom.
Selected candidates may be invited to interviews, further auditions, academy admissions processes, scholarship programmes or professional engagements.

The published timetable is preliminary and intended as a general framework for the audition.
The organiser reserves the right to adjust the final schedule, audition groups and session allocation depending on the number of applicants, their age distribution, professional objectives and the requirements of participating directors and institutions.
Based on the expected structure of applications, audition groups will most likely be organised separately for female and male dancers.

This approach allows for a more efficient assessment of candidates during classical ballet class, pointe work, men’s technique and recruitment-focused evaluations.
Final group assignments and detailed schedules will be communicated to all registered participants after the registration deadline and once the final composition of the audition groups has been determined.
